Marina: Swanwick
Glyn Davis, Marina Manager at Swanwick offers some advice for the winter months...As the winter nights draw in we all re-focus our efforts on security at the marina, both on the pontoons and shore-side.
Lighting around the boat lay-up areas has been recently refurbished and lamps replaced in a continued effort to keep our security levels as high as we possibly can.
Please do consider what you leave on board during the winter.
Here are a few ideas of items to remove:
- Mobile VHF and GPS
- Chart Plotter
- Cash
- CD's
- Cameras
- Binoculars
- Life Jackets
- Wet Weather Gear
- Hand Bearing Compass
- Dinghy Outboard
Security at Swanwick
If you have changed your car recently please do update us with your vehicle registration details. We need Vehicle Make, Model, Colour and the Registration. Our Automatic Number Plate Recognition system is easily updated and is a real help when identifying vehicles in the event of an incident.
Drop us a line on swanwick@premiermarinas.com with your details and we'll add you to the database.
Your boat ashore this winter...
If you are coming ashore this winter please do remove all your sails, dodgers and spray hoods. By removing these items you can help reduce the windage on your vessel and reduce the risk of your boat toppling over during the winter storms.
Your boat afloat this winter...
If you are staying afloat in the marina this year, I hope you find the new cleats that the Marina Team have recently installed useful. Please let us know if you need additional cleats or the ones we have fitted aren't quite in the right place and we'll re-deploy the Cleat Moving Team!
