The talks, hosted by David the owner of Gas Check Marine, are aimed to educate boat owners and influence their attitude towards their gas supplies and safety.
We do not believe in using hard sell tactics at club talks or with existing customers and do not force rules and regulations down the throats of those present, we simply inform and advise.
At present we cover the area between Plymouth and Brighton.
Gas Check Marine, have recently commissioned a twenty foot launch. This means they are now able to offer gas services to boat owners on the Isle of Wight and also mid river moorings in the Solent area. Until now, they've relied on customers bringing their boats to them in order to carry out work.
The 30 year old boat, now 'Tumblehome', was built by a sailing charity on the Medina. She was used by them until recently, when finally the engine failed for the last time.
Gas check took her on as a "quick renovation project" towing her back to the Hamble this year, planning to have her back in the water within six weeks.
Six months later she has been completely stripped, restored, and been fitted with a replacement engine and has begun her new life working on the river.
