Marina: Chichester
Four days of walking with stunning coastal scenery and good company are the key ingredients in the annual Festival of Harbour Walks.
Taking place 22 - 25 May, this year the Festival is extra special as we celebrate 30 years of walking Chichester Harbour. A three-day walk of the Harbour was inaugurated in 1982 and has continued in various forms every year since then. Some of the regular walkers have participated over 20 times!
To make this year special we have teamed up with The Friends of Chichester Harbour who are celebrating their 25th anniversary. Special discounts are on offer for members of the Friends and all walkers will have the opportunity to raise sponsorship whilst taking part.
The walks include one day around Langstone Harbour and three days around Chichester Harbour covering 48 miles in all. Each day includes a break for tea and cake and some include visits to local Sailing Clubs. Walkers can book just one or all four days.
Experienced guides with an extensive knowledge of their area lead the walks making each day informative and enjoyable. Sue Gilson one of last year's walkers said, 'It was a fantastic experience and a great way to see all the harbours have to offer'.

Inspired by Chichester Harbour
An exciting exhibition entitled Earth, Air and Water showing over 70 works of art and photography inspired by Chichester Harbour is currently on display at The Spring Arts Centre.
The work on display has been completed by artists of all ages and with a wide range of artistic experience from complete beginners to professional artists. Much of the work has been inspired by workshops run by Chichester Harbour Conservancy. These have covered a variety of media including printmaking, painting, photography and textiles.
In addition to working with the public, sessions were run with five local secondary schools and with the Partners in Art group from Pallant House Gallery. Some of the resulting work is also on display.
Jane Latowski, Deputy Education Officer at the Harbour Education Service said, 'we would like to thank all the artists who have submitted their work. It has helped to create a vibrant and wonderful exhibition that demonstrates how special the landscape of Chichester Harbour is to the local communities.
The exhibition is free to visit and is open every day from 10am - 8pm at The Spring, East Street, Havant. It has been sponsored by The Friends of Chichester Harbour.
